Two of our four Mercedes-Benz servicing depots in Kent are also approved MOT test centres: Ashford and Sittingbourne.
Vans and light commercial vehicles (LVCs) fall into one of three categories for testing purposes.
- Vans up to 3 tonnes must pass a Class 4 MOT test annually, from the vehicle’s 3rd birthday onwards
- Vans of between 3 and 3.5 tonnes must pass a Class 7 MOT test each year, from 3 years old
- HGVs and LGVs over 3.5 tonnes, semi-trailers, articulated LGVs, PSVs (public service vehicles, minibuses and vehicles with 8 or more seats) and certain other configurations are required to take the annual test from their first year after manufacture. If in doubt, have a chat with our team to be sure your vehicle is always legal and in an excellent condition of roadworthiness.
In most cases, MOT tests and annual tests can be carried out while you wait, but it’s advisable to book an appointment in advance. Don’t forget, you can book an MOT up to one month before it’s due.
Fleet managers will be pleased to learn that we can help you plan the testing and servicing of your entire fleet, to make your scheduling simple and minimise the time vehicles are off the road.
All LVC MOT tests are carried out by Mercedes-Benz-trained technicians using the latest diagnostic equipment.
To book a van MOT, please contact the MOT centres at Ashford or Sittingbourne, and for annual HGV tests contact the service departments at whichever depot is most convenient.
